Ring: Pension Costs Are Not the Reason California’s Schools Fail the Disadvantaged

“Pension costs are a significant reason our schools do not have the resources, equipment, computers and quality educators on campus.  But, you have bad management.  For instance UTLA, the union representing teachers in the LAUSD. Refuses to back into the classroom until there is a vaccine—that THEY approve or protocols for safety—that THEY approve.  The union has been clear—no classes till June of 2012—at the earliest.  But, they still get full pay as if they were working.”
